The Connecticut Sun put up a strong fight against the Las Vegas Aces last night, but the Aces pulled away late for a 101-94 victory at Mohegan Sun Arena. A’ja Wilson delivered a dominant performance with 45 points for Las Vegas, while Chennedy Carter added 18 points to help the Aces improve to 3-1 on the season. Connecticut showed plenty of heart, rallying in the third quarter behind back-to-back three-pointers from Saniya Rivers to cut the deficit to just two points, but the Aces responded with a big scoring run to seal the win. Rookie guard Hailey Van Lith led the Sun with 17 points, and Aaliyah Edwards made her season debut after returning from injury. Despite the loss, the Sun showed energy and determination against one of the WNBA’s top teams.
